On 29 August 2023, H.E. Ambassador Du Xiaohui paid a courtesy call on Her Hon. Nelly Mutti, Speaker of the National Assembly of Zambia, where they exchanged views on China-Zambia relations and exchanges between the two legislatures.

Speaker Mutti said that the all-weather friendship between Zambia and China has withstood the test of time and grown ever stronger, winning support from people of all walks of life. The Zambian side highly appreciates the valuable assistance given by the Chinese side in support of Zambia’s economic and social progress, and hopes to see enhanced exchanges between the two legislatures and strengthened mutually beneficial cooperation in such fields as agriculture, rural affairs, green development, infrastructure and poverty reduction, for the benefit of the two peoples.

Ambassador Du said that the Chinese Embassy in Zambia stands ready to work with friends from all sectors of Zambia to bring China-Zambia friendly cooperation to the next level. He further expressed confidence that the National Assembly of Zambia, under Her Hon. Speaker Mutti’s leadership, would continue to play a unique role in the continued growth of China-Zambia relations.
