On January 18, Ambassador Du Xiaohui met with Hon. Sheal Mulyata, Minister of Lusaka Province of Zambia. Minister-Counsellor Wang Sheng was present.

Ambassador Du said that China, as a all-weather friend of Zambia, proactively offered our Zambian brothers and sisters a hand during the outbreak of cholera. Until today, short-term assistance measures provided by the Chinese side to support the Zambian government and people in fighting cholera have been all implemented. In the long run, the two sides could enhance the cooperation on vaccine production and clean water supply. The Chinese side is willing to consolidate cooperation through strengthening economic, trade and people-to-people exchanges with Lusaka Province, in order to realize shared development.

Hon. Sheal Mulyata expressed sincere gratitude to the Chinese government and people for their help to Lusaka Province in fighting cholera. She said that Lusaka province is looking forward to working with the Chinese side to strengthen cooperation in the fields of agriculture, mining, energy and tourism to promote economic and social development and the friendly relations between the two countries.
